Greek and Roman gods are the center of our world. They have influenced major civilizations over the centuries, and will continue to do so. 
As you probably know by now : Gods don't die unless they are forgotten completely. Which will not happen, since us demigods are around. 
There ware twelve major Greek gods including Ares, Aphrodite, Athena, Demeter, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hephaestus, Apollo, and others. Just to name a few.
Greek and Roman gods are each other's counter part. Poseidon turns into Neptune, Aphrodite to Venus, and Ares to Mars – but Apollo stays the same.
